'shopping'
When I was recently in the US, I bought this chocolate. It was awesome, totally wonderful, what I would call *a chocolate experience*.
I bought this one package, it lasted a week, yet I thought I was nibbling at it all the time. But a tiny piece every now and then was just perfect.
Wish I could buy it over here...
When I was recently in New York, I just happened (in fact) to walk past Asics shoe store. I only use Asics as they are most spacious inside. Hate tight shoes, Reeboks are a no no for my feet!
Found a nice pair, with lots of bounce and under-foot support. Would love to do 'barfoot' training, or with five fingers, but as the indoor floors are un-natural and very hard, I opt for shoes indoors.
I went for the pink and black parin, top right... Very nice!
In Sweden the closest thing is peanut butter - not the best choice! Here I found almond butter! Had to buy a jar (heavy!) to take home. I love to have a spoon before or after a tough workout.
I have also previously found maccadamianut butter - that was the best! So filling...
I know, there are quite a lot of carbs in these 'butters' but I use them when working out, and in food dishes and give to my kids. The 'butters' are also high in protein and very high in fat - which means they are very filling!
I do have other sun protection too! I bought the cap at New York airport - love my cap! Never had one before, don't feel that they suit me, but this one works fine for me!
I also found a lovely wide sun hat here in Galveston today! So I have 2 alternatives anyway. Feels like good protection!
We went to a big shoe store today too. Very big!
I don't mean to criticize so, but I am shocked. And not so suprised as to why America is so overweight, mostly obese.
Right next to the children's shoes, near the cash out counter I find this, also very large, shelf! Of candy! In a shoe shop?
This country needs change, BIG change! Towards better health! Start with the kids...
It's been quite a (long) while since I went shopping for clothes for myself. Been saving the moment till this trip. So now I splurged!
I can spend hours, days in Marshalls! Just love it there.
The dress with the roses on it costs at Marshalls 14 dollars, original price was 89 dollars! So big difference - makes it so much more fun to shop!
Daniel however is more concerned about HOW we are going to fit it all into our cases. He also loves shopping, so his case is quite full soon too!
Did some shopping today! I just love the store: Marshalls! Wow... Heaven has a new name.
Amongst other things, a pair of shoes for me and a similar pair for my 7 yr old at home! I know she will love that!
On Friday is so called Swedish Mid-summer. A very big day for celebrations! It's a day of spending time with friends and eating lots of good foods, especially herring and also strawberries!
So now we are having a great LCHF week! Eating strictly and getting rid of all 'cravings' so that we don't fall back or 'cheat' on Friday! I think we will all manage fine!
It's important to compliment yourself on doing well and celebrating this too - BUT not with foods! Buy a good magazine, or movie tickets, or a new skirt - whatever but do acknowledge that you are doing correct choices and are more the happier for doing so too! :)
One of the biggest food stores in my town in Sweden is 'going' LCHF! This is so great! I have been in contact witht he manager there and suggested what items they should have in the shop.
It has gone so far that now there is a LCHF shelf!!! With almond flour, eggs, mayo, etc...
I just love it when people are positive to change! They are also working together with farmers from the area so that they can offer various products that have not been throught the whole 'transport process' from afar!
ICA Maxi is doing it! :)
Today was day 2 of my LCHF course for type 2 diabetics. It went extremely well! LCHF in practice!
We went shopping, looked at different labels and spoke about what to look out for and what to aim for! Looked for hidden sugars and MSG (E621) and totally avoided these products. Aimed for high fat content and low carb content.
Then it was time to go home and start practicing making LCHF food!
I have been thinking about it for a while, a long while. And what better place to buy these than in America! Besides the prices are like 1/8 of the Swedish prices!
*More shopping* :)
Soon going out for a run in my five fingers!
I LOVE food shopping in new countries! Always an experience! Found some nice looking organic eggs for breakfast! (Don't have at my hotel and I have microwave in my room)!
But the colorants in the foods and all the cakes and sweets - eeiiik! Gives me the shivers! Even butter is SWEET! Why?
Got some organic blueberries too and of course cream! Yum!
My favourite clothing brand is Odd Molly! In Copenhagen I found a true Odd Molly shop! *Happiness* :) AND everything was on 70% sale!
